Here we present a Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver Converted to .357 Magnum, originally manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut in 1902 and converted circa the mid-20th Century. The Colt SAA was adopted by the US military in 1873 and was extremely popular with the buying public. The Bisley frame came out in the closing years of the 19th Century and had a smaller following for its different ergonomics. Rancher and gun writer, Elmer Keith, was known to hotrod the Colt SAA to the point where he destroyed at least one in the process. He would go on to design the .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum, and .44 Magnum cartridges that are still in use today. This one comes converted in the .357 chambering (left side of the barrel so-marked), which is still considered a manstopper today. In addition, it received a vented rib on the barrel, primarily in order to accommodate the improved and adjustable sights. Someone went the full mile with this one. The overall condition is very good. 95% of the blue finish remains. Markings are clear. The trademarked hard rubber grips are in decent shape with a repair to the bottom of the left grip. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The action is excellent. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4-3/4 inches. Caliber: .357 Magnum Overall condition as seen inphotos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
