Springfield Model 1873 .45-70 caliber Trapdoor Saddle Ring Carbine. With 1884 upgrades. The overall length is approximately 41”. The 22” round barrel has a good bore with strong rifling and areas of light pitting. The barrel and action have a blue-brown patina. The lock is gray/brown. The US/Springfield is barely visible. The lightly sanded stock is good with a crack at the left forend tip. The barrel band has pitting at the edges. A correct 1884 Buffington carbine sight is present. The sling ring and bar are present. The action functions correctly. This is a good example of an Indian Wars carbine.
