.475 Caliber SMOOTHBORE Antique Half Stock Long Rifle HENRY PARKER Lock
Nice Plains Rifle with Brass Décor!
Here we present an Antique Half Stock Long Rifle, made circa the mid-19th Century. Its stout octagonal barrel is in .475 caliber and smoothbore, large enough to take medium to large sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. The musket also features brass hardware and double set triggers. Rifle sights.
“HENRY PARKER/WARRANTED” is engraved onto the lock. The lock is also lightly engraved with traditional floral designs. The top of the barrel has a starburst design and a series of punched circles and meandering zig-zags.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong, and the bore is nice and clean. The patchbox opens and closes easily. The barrel has matured to a dark brown patina. Two small repairs on the stock: one just over the lock and the other on the left stock flat. Very solid and stable.
