PRE WW2 MAUSER BANNER STANDARD MODELL 8MM K98K SHORT RIFLE, CIRCA 1935-36. Commerical "BUGN" proofs with no Nazi acceptance stamps. Serial number with "B" prefixed number "600XX" matching to all parts but bolt which is a war-time K98k turned down bolt with it's own matching numbers. On top of receiver ring later "Mauser" banner roll stamp with "Standard-Modell" on side wall. All metal parts reblued but markings still crisp. 2nd type K98k style band spring and wide rear band. Matching rear sight with "S/42" code as well. Original stock with no military acceptance markings and never been cleaned or sanded. It is ALSO matching to gun with same number stamped under wood. Original two piece steel/brass cleaning rod with teet still on cleaning jag(often knocked off). No import marks. Good bore too. Early k98K style gewehr typical to those issued to specialty units prior to the war and used extensively throuHgout as well as sold commercially.
