Here’s an opportunity to own a Turnbull-restored Winchester Model 1886 that has received numerous upgrades. Carrying serial number 135879, this big bore lever gun was originally shipped in 1905. The rifle retains the original 26″ full octagon barrel chambered in .45-70 Gov’t as well as a second front end chambered in .50-110 Win. The butt stock and forends are new to the rifle, made with 3X extra fancy American black walnut. The pistol grip knob has the traditional ebony wedge inlaid in it as well. The stocks are carved in the Winchester factory “F” pattern. Metal finishes include bone charcoal color case hardened receiver, lever, hammer, takedown collar and forend cap; rust blued barrels and mag tubes; charcoal blued parts. Engraving is inspired by the Winchester factory #3 and #6 patterns with flush gold animals and gold wire. The previous owner exercised good care for this revived Winchester 1886, and the rifle shows only minor handling marks. Includes a Doug Turnbull “Big Bore Classics” aluminum reinforced case.
