The Carbine's barrel date is 12-43. The serial number is 3179803. This is a collector grade M1 carbine. It has all of the correct parts for the serial range and time frame. The flat bolt has the correct blued finish. The Inland barrel is dated 12-43. The bore is in fine condition with sharp lands. The rear sight is the correct flip style. The type one barrel band Is original to this gun and is marked UI. The stock has the HI stamped in the left side sling well. The stock and hand guard have no cracks or damage. All of this gun's parts and barrel still have the original finish intact. The receiver has the Saginaw Gear [SG] stamp below the stock line on the left side. Inland Division was getting low on receivers and had Saginaw Gear supply them with receivers to keep production going. Those supplied receivers were marked with the [SG] stamp. These Saginaw Gear Receivers are not commonly seen today. This carbine's serial number correctly falls in the range of these supplied receivers. The magazine is correctly coded for this Inland carbine. This gun has not been altered or messed with. This is certainly a unusual collector quality M1 carbine for the collector.
