Description:
A great old rusted Henry repeating rifle. This 16 shot, lever action, breech loading relic was found in California. It was near the foundation of the Asa Howard house, which was built in 1860, and served as a stage stop, in the gold mining town of Mugginsville. There are a number of documents, letters, photographs and articles to go with this great historic piece. It is serial numbered 2048, and is in the probable serial number range to have been issued to the U.S. Cavalry, 1st Regiment for the District of Columbia, during the American Civil War.
