Description:
This lightly used Winchester model 1892 early turn of the century ,was manufactured in 1913. This rifle has a 24-inch full octagonal barrel in the very desirable 44-40 caliber with full lenght, orignal blued magazine, all the way. The barrel has the up grade sporting style front MARBLES FRONT SIGHT GOLD BEAD, the rear sight with M,ARBLES GLADSTONE REAR SIGHT,WITH ELEVATOR ,ALL 100 PERCENT ORIGINAL BLUED. The stock and foearm are AMERICAN walnut.The rifle barrel , magazine , forarm cap , receiver , trigger andhave Winchester commercial blue finish. The loading gate is fire blue.The hammer,lever and crescent buttplate are color case hardened. The top barrel flat is rolled-stamped '' Manufactured by the wincheste repeating arms co./ new haven .conn. u.s..a.PATENTED OCTOBER 14, 1884, FORWARD OF THE REAR SIGHT. The caliber ''44 W.C.F.' is stamped on the top barrel flat between the rear sight and the receiver. The upper receiver tang is roll stamped ; MODEL 1892/- winchester- trade mark'' in three lines. The serial number is roll stamped across the underside of the receiver just behind the forearm, 716657. The over all is in excellent condition , with the usual ,minor , slight wood dents and ,a couple of light scratches on the blueing , hand to find one in the shape, at this price.
