<<>> A very fine hammer double with cut twist barrels of 24" for coach use and made about 1870 according to London records. Profusely engraved locks, frame and trigger guard with bank note scrolls . Both hammers match and work well, and this breech loader has CYL, and IC chokes for 12ga . Missing the front bead sight. Top of barrel states: G. HEMINWAY, LONDON , LAMINATED STEEL. Bores are mirror clean, shiny and clear. Chambers the 2 9/16" shell. Exterior metal has thinned blue turned to grey, but no rust.. The English walnut stocks are clean, with very finely hand checkered round knob pistol grip, and forend has more wear as expected. The steel factory installed butt-plate has a LOP of 14 1/2". One short stress split behind the left side, back of the lock of about 3/8" long, but not open. HIGH SOLID rib and no dents in the barrels. This is an antique, but I determine who I ship to.
