The 33½” octagon .36 caliber barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. All metal has a brown patina. The butt stock and forearm are very good with minor handling dings. The base of this rifle is a second model, fourth type Whitney Navy revolver. The action functions but the cylinder does not rotate (but you won’t shoot it anyway)! The top of the barrel is engraved “B Vore”. Benjamin F. Vore (1814-1889) operated in Somerset, PA, and New Paris, PA. If you’re into oddities, then this Vore revolving rifle fits the bill. It may well be unique, have you ever seen another revolving Kentucky? SOLD Antique: Yes |
