Description:
I listed this Colt a few weeks ago but removed the listing to have this gun appraised. I have included the results in the description. The last two images have the complete details of results by Charles Layson.

The feature image shows a Colt Single Action Army with some rare California gold quartz jewelry. The period jewelry displays perfectly with this awesome Colt six shooter. A successful westerner with his engraved Colt - his outfit wouldn't really be complete without a gold watch & chain and a matching gold quartz vesta case to hold matches to lite his "Segars".   The jewelry not included with the Colt.

Manufactured in 1876 and engraved "most likely" by Louis Nimschke.  All matching parts.  Handsome checkered ivory grips have been professionaly stabelized.  The .45 cal. Colt originally had a 7-1/2" barrel but was shortened to 5-1/4".  Colt only offered a 7-1/2" in those days. The less time needed for the barrel to clear the holster and aim was a much needed advantage in the west so shortening the barrel was a fairly common thing.
I hope the pictures say enough but if there are any specific ares of the gun you need to see I can send more pics.

Only the gun is for sale.
