"U.S. Model 1816 Harpers Ferry Conversion Musket. Has been converted in Belgian style alteration. Metal has a brown patina. These muskets were the last to have the armory brown finish. Lock plate is dated 1831. Stock is good with no cracks, does show handling wear. The initials “JS" are carved on butt stock rear of the side plate. These muskets saw heavy use during the Civil War!
