From the : The AYA Nº 1 has been the flagship of the AYA line since its introduction in the late 1950s. Modelled closely on the classic Holland & Holland-style sidelock, the Nº 1 has every hallmark of the traditional English-style double: Purdey-type double underlugs, chopper-lump barrels, hand-detachable locks, articulated front trigger. The Nº 1 is masterfully hand-engraved in classic Purdey-style rose-and-scroll. Looking at the details on this gun it does have the features of a "BEST GUN", ie drop points on stock, diamond grip, stocked to the fences, gold washed internals, beaded fences, rolled edge on trigger guard, finely struck barrels, bushed/removable firing pins, and the features listed above. This beautiful AyA best gun, sn257659 built in 1967, is the perfect upland bird gun and a great sporting clays gun as well. The 28” IC/M barrels retain 98% factory blue with perfect mirror bores, are tight on the hinge pin and action breech face like a new gun, the mechanics are excellent with crisp triggers, strong well-timed ejectors, and a positive auto-safety. Weighing just 6lbs. 9oz. and balanced dead on the hinge pin this gun is a delight to handle and shoulders without effort. The AyA No. 1 is a superb gun and one of the best that the Spanish gunmaking trade has to offer at a price that the Brits just cannot compete with. The gun comes in the original factory leather case complete with the original paperwork and accessories. Look the photos over closely and you will see a very high condition gun. There are many fine 12 bore guns for sale, and you may ask how to make the best choice??? I suggest that you only buy a valuable investment quality shotgun if you know for sure what you are getting. You need details to make an informed choice…details that most other sellers simply do not provide, like bore diameter, barrel wall thicknesses, stock dimensions, chokes and other specifics that make a big difference in value.
