Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle .38-40wcf. with factory Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this example is 9588XX placing date of manufacture in 1926. Overall condition of this 1892 is excellent. The barrel and magazine tube have retained 99.9+% of the original factory blue. The bore is as new! The bore will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale, possibly unfired. The receiver is 90-95%, would be new except for the "flaking" consistent with this period of manufacture. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is "proud" at all contacts with 100% original factory varnish. Very hard to upgrade from.
