Description:
Winchester Model 1894 Sporting Rifle .32/40wcf. with factory 26 inch Octagon. This example was ordered with a "Shotgun Butt". The serial number is 114XXX Placing date of manufacture in 1897-98 Antique No FFL needed... Overall condition is fine with the Barrel and Magazine retaining 98% of the original factory rust blue toning to a dark blue/plum very pleasant looking patina starting. The bore is near perfect and will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. the rifling is strong with shine from breech to muzzle. The receiver has retained 85% of its original factory blue with 75% of the "Fire Blue" remaining on the loading gate. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 95% of the original factory varnish. The Shotgun Butt is early type, wide and with the thick base. Very nice honest Antique Model 1894 in a rare caliber.
