Standard configuration single action pistol with 4.75” barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release marked on the left side of the trigger guard and discreetly applied import marking on base of frame where covered by the magazine floorplate. Disassembly shows a matching hammer assembly with the usual half cock. Fitted with checkered black plastic grips, separate escutcheons, secured with a single transfer screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with a correct and spare matte finish magazines. Supple brown holster, manufacturer marked and dated “58”; early style shoulder strap dated “65”. Accompanied by the original service record of Swiss pilot P. Thut who entered the Swiss Military in 1963. This pistol is well documented by serial number. Included in his service record are the flights he made between 1964-1983 along with his military ID.

Exceptional and all original SIG P49 with matte finish as typical for the later military pistol with holster, strap, spare magazine and original service record of the Swiss Military pilot who was issued this pistol.
Condition:
Superb 99% original matte finish with negligible sharp edge wear and a few very minor scuffs. Crisp grips and near excellent magazines. Mirror bore and perfect manual mechanics. Near excellent brown holster, nicely marked, and shoulder strap. Complete service record nicely bound with a grey plastic cover. A super Swiss military P49 rig, the only one this cataloger has ever seen with its accompanying service record. A true historic time capsule. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
