Original wood is also in excellent condition for it's age. Blued metal finish has an overall patina with traces of case coloring on the receiver. 7 shot capacity. Invented by Louis Triplett and William Scott of Columbia, Kentucky. Approximately 5000 of these were produced and issued to the Kentucky Home Guard troops who were assigned to protect the supply lines of the Union Army under General Sherman's Command.
