Description:
I am offering an award winning full custom rifle in the ever popular .270 Winchester caliber. The heart of this magnificent custom is a vintage FN Mauser action that has been polished inside and out. The 24 inch barrel is a new PacNor. The safety is a 2 position, model 70 style on the bolt shroud. The steel floorplate is a custom straddle type with trigger guard release. The custom stock was fashioned from a very colorful piece of California Bastogne walnut by Fred Speiser of Missoula Montana. It has multicolored streaks throughout and fiddleback from the ebony forend tip th the buttplate. Swivels are 2 screw type. Cheekpiece has a shadowline. Checkering is bordered wrap around point pattern on the forend and 2 panel on the pistol grip. The bolt handle has been replaced with a classic pear shaped knob and has checkered panels within a floral leaf surround. The extractor has also been engraved with a floral accent. The award winning engraving/gold inlay was completed by master engraver William Gamradt, of Missoula, Montana. Bill is a member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America (FEGA). See photos of the award. Coverage is extensive, covering about 90% of the exposed metal serfaces. There is much gold inlay work and includes: gold bull elk on the floorplate, gold sheep on the grip cap, mountain goat in front of the inlayed gold sky on the buttplate. Additionally, there is gold on the action, custom scope bases, trigger guard, and barrel muzzle/chamber.
This rifle was awarded best of show in its catagory at the 2004 Custom Gunmakers Show in Reno, Nevada. It remains in unfired condition since completion.
Scope is not included in the price. Framed documents and artists ink drawings are included. 1 inch quick detachable scope rings are included.
