Description:
This is a "3rd Generation" factory Nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army Buntline revolver in .45 Long Colt that was manufactured in 1980.  Bought new by the original owner, this Colt Buntline had 12 to 18 rounds fired thru it and was then put into storage until just months ago. Unfortunately, the storage environment was poor and has resulted in flaking of the original finish on an otherwise like-new gun.  The very distinctive Single Action Army Buntline is easily recognizable from it's 12" inch barrel and has been featured in many Hollywood films and westerns.  This particular example is serial number SA37985 and remains 100% original, just as it left the factory.  This single-action revolver features a factory bright nickel plated finish, a 12" inch barrel with a fixed front sight blade, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, and smooth American Walnut factory grips.  As mentioned before, the original nickel plating is flaking off in numerous places, despite the gun being "like-new" for all intents and purposes.  In the pictures below you can see what finish damage we are referring to in both the distance and close-up shots.  While the outside of this Colt certainly shows some finish problems the inside is like-new and free from any mechanical wear.  The bore in the 12" inch barrel is mirror-bright and perfect, as are the 6 chambers in the cylinder.  The action on this Colt is in-time and smooth with 4 audible "clicks" heard as the hammer is cocked and the cylinder turns into battery.  All of the controls function 100% as-new.  The original factory smooth American Walnut grips are in excellent condition overall, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/damage.  Both grip panels fit the gun perfectly and are nice and tight to the grip frame. This 40 year old Colt Single Action Army Buntline would be the perfect gun for someone that just wants a "shooter" Colt single action and isn't worried about the finish being great, or someone that wants a genuine Colt Buntline that doesn't mind having it refinished.  It would also be the perfect "base" gun or starting point for someone that wants a short-barreled custom SAA by mating it to a barrel of desired length or cutting down the factory barrel, and then maybe refinishing it if he or she so chooses.  Priced **SOLD**, this factory Nickel-plated Colt Single Action Army Buntline revolver in .45 Colt with perfect mechanics is a real bargain!
