PRE-WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 OR M-1 GARAND 4 DIGIT SERIAL # GAS TRAP CONVERSION .30-06 RIFLE CA. 1939. 8,0xx serial range manufactured in February 1939 as a gas trap and rebuilt as gas cylinder in 1940-42. Original operating rod and trigger housing assembly. Still retains the original to the gun no date “P” proof Springfield gas trap barrel with old 1970’s era import stamp. New stock, hand guard and forend with stock using the correct original gas trap butt plate without trap. Very good plus with lightly worn original gas trap era Parkerizing on barrel and receiver with mixed patina. Working order and very good bore. Reproduction good quality leather U.S. Model 1907 sling stamped “MILSCO 1944”. Rare gas trap production 4 digit and with original barrel.
