SCARCE AND FINE BRITISH GEORGE III EAST INDIA COMPANY FLINTLOCK LIGHT DRAGOON PISTOL BY DAVIDSON DATED 1802. 9” smoothbore .70 cal. barrel with London proofs and Royal Ordnance inspection stamps at the breech along with the EIC “HEART” and stamped “DAVIDSON 1802”. Lock stamped “DAVIDSON” and dated 1802 with EIC cypher and Royal Ordnance proofed as well. Stock with fine EIC storekeeper’s cypher stamp. All original and fine condition overall. Original ramrod. Very scarce early Light Dragoon EIC not to be confused with the later pattern pistols with flat butt and with lanyard ring. Alexander Davidson was a London gun maker and contractor to both Royal Ordnance and the East India Company.
