Unusual Brass Barreled Flintlock Blunderbuss. The overall length is 26”. The 12 ¼” octagon to round barrel measures 1 3/8” at the muzzle. The first 5” of the barrel are octagon ending in a three band wedding band. The barrel has three proof marks, a crown over co, a crown over an indistinct figure, and a crown over V? The barrel is nicely engraved from muzzle to breech. The scroll like sideplate incorporates a fantsy creature. The brass triggerguard and butt plate have decorative engraving. The lock has use wear, it has border lines with the cock having light engraving. It appears that the lock is marked “Wm Hollet” but this is indistinct. The stock is good whit several wood repairs. The ramrod is present. The action functions correctly. We are unsure of the country of origin of this fine blinderbuss. There is also a decorative Escutcheon on the top of the wrist. This would be a great piece for a Blunderbuss collection.
