Description:
The Colt Pre-Woodsman was made from 1915 to 1927, with a total production of 54,000. The pistols were equipped with a 6 5/8 inch barrel, checkered wood grips, bottom mag release, adjustable front and rear sight's, 10-shot magazine, came with a blue finish only, and was chambered in .22 LR. (standard velocity only). The early guns, serial numbers 1-31,000, were equipped with pencil barrels, medium weight barrels after. The first 1800 guns were made with the rare hooded chamber. This 1916 vintage pistol, serial number 1167, has the correct pencil barrel and hooded chamber. It retains about 85-90% of its original finish with crisp stampings and un-molested screw-heads. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the action functions as new. The grips are in very fine condition, with sharp checkering and no chips or cracks. This is a rare first model gun, for the serious Woodsman collector, a must for a complete early Woodsman collection.
