Description:
A very nice Type II, #3 double barrel Remington Deringer. Made in the late 19th Century, this is one of the world's most popular pocket pistols. The guns were manufactured from 1867, just after the Civil War, until the mid 1930's, and some even saw service with the U.S. Army Air Core during WWII. Although it fired the somewhat low powered .41 rimfire cartridge, it was nevertheless very popular with ladys, gamblers and business men who wanted a quality, concealable handgun. This gun is in unusually fine condition, with most of its original blue finish remaining and only lightly worn gutta percha grips. The bore is shootable, with sharp rifling, but there is light spotting throughout the bore. There is a very small, almost undetectable crack on the left barrel hinge, but all screw heads are good and the action is tight and crisp. Overall, it is a very nice example of the world's most popular deringer pistol, especially in bright blue finish.
