Winchesters Model of 1876 "First Model" Sporting Rifle .45-75wcf. The serial number of this early First Model Open Top is 204 placing date of manufacture in 1876. Overall condition of this example is very good to fine with 40% of the original untouched factory rust blue finish toning to a very nice even smooth patina. The bore in this Open Top is near perfect with strong rifling from breech to muzzle. The bore will rate an 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The front sight is a Rocky Mountain with a German Silver Blade. Wood to metal fit is perfect with only normal handling / storage marks, no damage or abuse. They do not get any better than this!
