Winchester Model of 1873 deluxe Sporting Rifle .22SHORT. The serial number of this Rare 1873 "Third Model" is 387072 placing date of manufacture in 1891. This rifle was purportedly owned and used by Doc Carver the world champion shooter representing Winchester for marketing purposes. Special Order .22SHORT case Hardened Receiver, Deluxe Pistol Grip. Overall condition is very good with mostly a patina finish remaining. I would estimate the original finish is at 90% toned to a very nice smooth plum / blue. The receiver is Silvered out with no Case Colors observed. The bore is leaded as normal with the small caliber Firearms cleaning kits were not offered back in the day!
