This is a transitional Carbine from Second Model to Third Model. Reversed rear sight and muzzle not crowned all second model traits. This is a very rare Trapper with full magazine, normally they have half or "Button Magazine." The Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming confirms the Carbine as full Nickel with 17" Barrel. I measured the Barrel at 17 inches. The Barrel and Magazine have retained 50-60% of the original factory nickel finish. The bore is very good with strong rifling and scattered blemishes as expected with a Back Powder era firearm. The bore will rate a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has some nickel left, mostly patina with a smooth, tight and mechanically perfect action. This one will make a very nice winter restoration project, a very rare item! Please phone Tommy at 760-912-3761 or E-Mail all questions and concerns. $35.00 shipping. Insurance will be additional. SOLD Antique: Yes |
