Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Sporting Rifle with factory 24 inch Octagon Barrel .25/20wcf. The serial number of this example is 980XXX placing date of manufacture in 1927. Overall condition of this rifle is excellent with the barrel and magazine maintaining 98% of the original factory rust blue. The bore is perfect and will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. Bore is bright and shiny (mirror) from breech to muzzle. Very little evidence of use. The receiver is starting to "flake" with 80-85% of its original factory blue. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 98% of the factory applied varnish remaining. Very nice collectible, very hard to upgrade from.
