Description:
Model 1871/78 11.3mm x 52R bolt action repeat or. Action shows bright with slight patina on barrel. Bore is absolutely gorgeous, bright & shinny! Barrel is dated 1878. Stock is uncut and original; never sanded, cleaned or varnished. There is a small stress crack behind the receiver tang on the left rear. Original cartouche is deeply set in the right side of the buttstock and dated 1878. Front sight has been raised to allow 50yard point of impact. Comes with cleaning rod and a sling. Included is 33 rounds of ammo. This early European bolt action rifle is a lot of fun to shoot and load for. I have been shooting 45-70 cast .458 dia. bullets The Beaumont employed a very unique design. The firing pin is driven by a “V” spring in the hollow bolt handle. The cartridges feed out of a four round box magazine. The rifle holds 5-cartridges.
