Chelsea Ship’s Bell. Has a 6” dial, 9 ½” in height and 18” long. First patented in 1898, this classic clock has 360 plus gold plated parts, and the assembly of each part done by hand. Its distinguished chime coordinated with a Mariner’s bell and the code was used for keeping watch at sea. Alerting mariners to time during their “watch” by employing the unique ship’s bell chime earned the company the name “Timekeepers of the Sea”. Made in Chelsea, Mass.
