Charles Boswell boxlock ejector, circa 1901, 12 bore, 6 lbs. 14 oz., 2 1/2" chambers, original 30" damascus steel nitro reproved in Birmingham in 1999 for 850 BAR, choked .012 IC and .022 Mod., smooth concave game rib engraved "Charles Boswell, Maker, 126 Strand, London W.C.", rib extension 3rd bite via a hidden cross bolt, 15" LOP over a wood extension, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/8" DAH, 1/16" cast off, ejectors, double triggers, straight grip, splinter forend with A&D push button release, automatic safety with "SAFE" in gold inlay, boxlock action with acanthus scroll work and game scenes depicting a pair of pointers on left side, a pair of setters on the right side, a pair of grouse on the bottom and a pointer and grouse on the trigger guard. Nicely figured European walnut stock with drop points and a vacant stock oval. Excellent mechanical condition gun with action having been retightened and top lever to right of center, numerous minor handling marks, some case colors remain in protected areas. Very good nitro proved damascus barrels with clean and shiny bores at .734 right and .732 left and min. wall thickness at .022 right and .023 left. Action is tight and on face, ejectors are in time. All cased in a period case relined with period maker's label, with period cleaning rod and modern oil bottle, grease case, and snap caps.
