Description:
This is a rare Marlin "Safety Model" 1891 made c1891-1897. Only about 5000 of this model was made and this rifle has the uncommon round barrel. The 1891 was the only side loading 22 Marlin made and this feature was dropped at the end of the Second Model 1891 production. The bore is oxidized with strong rifling. This was the first repeating rifle that would handle 22 shorts, longs and long rifle interchangeably. This gun also has a safety system that requires the lever to be closed before the gun would fire. The metal is turning to a nice plumb brown and is clean. The wood is sound with the usual scrates and dings. Use the ZOOM feature to make your evaluation of condition.
