Description:
Upper class shooter grade Pre 64 Winchester 70 SUPER GRADE in very scarce .22 hornet caliber. S/N 127*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1949. Rust blued barrel understamped 22H 38. About 90% overall condition with no cracks, significant gouges, or other major detractors but showing an honest patina of a well cared for 71 year old rifle. All mechanical functions are smooth and working properly. 24" barrel with a fine bore. Internal inspection reveals an area of epoxy bedding near the breech end of barrel channel and on the recoil lug flat. It does not appear that any wood has been removed so could likely be scraped and sanded out if desired. All Super Grade components are genuine and present including Redfield front sight, SG stamped floorplate, SG swivels, etc. All of the unique 22 Hornet inner components are also 100% correct including an "H" marked floor plate. I have personally confirmed that the chamber remains intact and has never been reamed to a K hornet nor any other caliber. Not pristine, but a very decent and hard to find example that's not $6,000 either like the last few you've seen me sell!
