Rare 1953 vintage "gap letter" International Harvester M1 Garand in excellent condition. The "gap letter" was done on the International Harvester rifles near the end of production with most receivers having a standard style manufacturer layout. The barrel is dated 6/53 and the bore is in perfect condition with sharp rifling, specs to "1" at the muzzle and "2+" at the throat. This M1 Garand is a fantastic shooter. All of the stock hardware is intact, tight, and in great shape, including the trap-door buttplate. The action on this International Harvester is both slick, smooth, and precise. The bolt turns into battery perfectly without any slop. This rifle includes a CMP certificate of authenticity. If you have been looking for a nice, U.S. Military M1 Garand, this rare "gap letter" International Harvester would be an excellent choice to add to a collection.
