Cased third model 1851 Navy mfd in 1856. This small guard Navy appears to have been seldom if ever fired. It is mechanically perfect with all safety pins and a clean bore. Action is tight and timing correct. Hammer face shows no pitting as usually found. Barrel and cylinder color is beginning to fade but still exhibits 85-90% bright factory blue. Strong presence of case colors remain on lever and frame. Silver, though slightly tarnished is 90%. Cylinder scene is strong and near 100%.
Hard to find original small guard factory case exterior is excellent with normal handling marks. There is no warping of lid. The interior has staining as seen in photos but all partitions are tight with little or no material fraying. The double sided flask has 80-90% original lacquer with tight seams and functional charger.
Colts Patent bullet mold, cap tin, cartridge pack and nipple wrench are all in excellent condition.
