Description:
The military Colt Walker is the rarest prize of the Colt collector. Only 1100 Walkers, both military and civilian, were built. Of these, approximately only 10% survive today and appear in modern-day collections and museums. Due to extreme rarity, extremely high prices and great demand of the original Walker, there have been some outstanding copies made. This is one of those copies. Although I have owned some very desirable and original Colts I have never been able to afford a few of the most highly-prized, collectible Colts, the Walker being one of them. This Walker that I have for sale has the correct size and style markings of the original Walkers. They are in the right places, both on the inside and the outside. It has a full cylinder scene and is marked Model USMR in the top banner. The lower banner is marked COLTS PATENT. It has the Colts barrel address, the grips fit nicely just as they should and overall, the gun has a beautiful greyish-brown patina with only light salt and pepper pitting. It is marked US 1847 on the right barrel lug. It has all of the correct B Company markings. This is a tight and mechanically sound Walker, one of the best that I have ever seen for sale. These Walker copies not only hold value, but increase greatly in value. I am offering this one for sale at a wholesale price. Also, this gun has the correct serial number on the wedge, the arbor and on the back of the cylinder. The number on the back of the cylinders on the original Walkers were numbered in the order that the gun was built. The first (original) 220 Walkers were C Company which Colonel Walker himself was in. The next 220 Walkers were made for A Company, the third 220 Walkers were made for B Company. So, this one is correctly marked 460 on the back of the cylinder. Thanks for looking.
