Description:
SOLD..A real nice high condition little antique Smith & Wesson Model 1 ½ in .32 center fire caliber. Has the standard 3 1/2” barrel.. S/N 60851 and ALL matching of course... These were made from 1878 to 1892 S/N range 1 to 97574 so all are antique. This little gun has quite a bit of original factory nickel finish.. The barrel has 98% bright and shiny nickel finish.. The cylinder has 100% with no flaking and the frame has the most wear showing about 80%.. including the front and rear grip straps. The frame shows some flaking in a couple areas including down the back strap with some dings and scratches but nothing bad at all.. Just shows normal honest use and no abuse. The barrel latch still showing some fading blue and the hammer has traces of case colors on the sides and 100% case colors on the rear where more protected. No pitting on the gun.. The mechanics are excellent.. Crisp and tight as a new gun. Lock up is rock solid like new.. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch and the hinge. The rebounding hammer is in perfect working order. Markings are excellent.. The bore is very good with very strong rifling with just minor roughness from black powder.. NO big pits or craters and no rings or bulges. The cylinder chambers are excellent and smooth with no roughness.. This would make a great shooter with the proper black powder loads of course. The grips are excellent still showing their fine checkering and no cracks or chips and a perfect factory fit. The screw heads are sharp and not all burred up from tinkering.. Some do show some very minor turning but nothing bad at all and all are very serviceable. Full front sight never mess with or cut down.. Even though this gun is not near mint it is still a very sharp looking little pocket revolver at a very fair price..... This gun easily would rate NRA antique excellent condition with over 80% original finish. These were very popular pocket and hideout revolvers in the day and served very well for their intentions.
