Description:
For sale is a J.P Sauer & Son Model 11 shotgun in 12 gauge. This shotgun is 95% plus and was made for export to America as the name is J.P Sauer & Son as opposed to J.P Sauer and Sohn . The type of barrel is also spelled in English thus the " fluid steel" spelling. The barrel is 30" long. LOP is 14". Left choke is "F" and the right "IM". This was ordered as a presentation model, however the silver area was never engraved. Serial number is 116,781 which dates the gun to be made in approximately 1906. Weight is 7lbs. 5oz. " Made in Prussia" is stamped on the water table as " Prussia" is stamped on the barrel flats. The barrels are Krupp fluid steel. This gun has the Anson & Deeley boxlock action with the Greener crossbolt safety.The stock and forearm are made from Italian walnut and are beautifully checkerd. Stock has a pistol grip. The receiver is color case hardened and has flawless engraving. The trigger gaurd is blued and engraved as well. J.P Sauer & Son which was established in 1751 is one of the oldest gun manufacturers in the world known for the highest quality in gun construction. The Sauer gun may be equalled but never supassed with detailed workmanship which cannot be improved on. This is an original shotgun with original finish.
