Savage model 99R "heavy rifle" in 300 Savage. Built in 1954,this rifle is in excellent original condition retaining 98% of the original blue and wood finish.It has a 24" barrel with a mint bore.The stock is sound with no cracks.This rifle combines several of the classic features of the early 99 with some more modern features that help make it a better hunting rifle.The features include the brass cartridge counter,the hand checkered walnut stock and forend,the tang safety,the steel buttplate,and the case colored lever. Modern features include factory drilled and tapped for a scope or a tang sight, factory sling swivels,and a jeweled bolt.This would make a great all around big game rifle in a classic configuration.C&R eligible.
