Description:
Serial #ER 7003 (7371), .303 British, 25" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has minor freckling within the grooves. This is a 1909 dated, armory renumbered rifle that retains about 80-85% of an armory reapplied blue finish with gray fading along the high edges and projections, and some mild plum-brown freckling on the balance. The bolt has been armory renumbered to match the rifle (as has the nosecap) and is equipped with the sliding charger guide that has silvering along the bearing surfaces as well. The walnut forend, buttstock, and correct early handguards have an excellent dark added military oil finish over scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes throughout. The volley sights are still present, and the brass stock disk is unmarked. This is a very good-fine example of a pre-World War 1 SMLE, that would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
