PRE WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. GAS TRAP M-1 OR M1 GARAND .30-06 RIFLE RECEIVER. CIRCA FEB. 1940. Serial number "28,4XX" with "U.S. Rifle/Cal. .30 M1/ Springfield/ Armory" address. Stripped of all it's parts but with exceptional barrel threads and knurling for battle sight. Never been cleaned so original finish and crisp address. No weld marks either so NOT a refurb dewat. Receiver leg marking with "R E P 4" and under that "D 28291-1". No dings or battle damage and NO pitting. so ready to have an early WW2 complete rifle built around it. All edges are crisp and NO alterations have been done to it.
