Not sure of the age, caliber, or who may have used such an item, but pretty sure it must be from the late 1800s since it has U.S. military markings with a “DFC”, which I’m assuming is David F. Clark, a military arms inspector from roughly 1878 to 1890. At first I thought it was for the 20-gauge Springfield 1881 Forager (as this seemed likely) but the 20-gauge brass case is too small for the charger throat …and a 12-gauge is too large. It also has markings from an Oakland, Calif dealer, but to the best of MY (limited) knowledge, this was not a supplier of military goods, but yet all markings look good. Interesting tool and fully operational and in very good condition. $395 SOLD |
