Description:
This is an all original beautiful example of a WWII early Colt 1911A1 US Army pistol, sent to Britain in 1943 as a part of Lend Lease program. The gun is marked profusely with US and British proof marks, including the original barrel. The gun has about 96-97% of its original parkerising with just a touch of holster wear, a few handling marks and a tiny scratch/ding on the left side of the chamber. Excellent bore and grips. It appears that the gun was barely used and then returned to US after the war. No import marks. Original mag marked "S" on the toe. A great collectible example of an iconic historic WWII firearm.
