Description:
Ithaca Grade 2 NID 16 ga made by The Ithaca Gun Company, Ithaca, NY in 1938. This gun appears new with 100 % case colors, blue and varnish. However, a 1” recoil pad and ¼” spacer have been added to the butt stock. The 26” barrels have 2 ¾” chambers and measure 0.010 & 0.020 in. Serial number 465095.The highly figured walnut stock dimensions are LOP over pad and spacer is 14 ¼”, DC = 1 ½”, and DH = 2 ½”. It would appear, this was a special-order gun because of its unusual features. It is of skeet configuration with beavertail forend and 26” bbls both marked 4 - indicating full & full. However, the chokes measure skeet 2 and improved modified. Farther, Stock skeet guns were only made in the basic grade. Estimated value: $3450.
