*** SOLD *** SOLD *** Very rare 1928 Savage 99K Deluxe Engraved take-down (serial # 305827) with 24" barrel in the sought after 250-3000 Savage. 24" is not a typo, it is a Roe Clark factory lettered, one of only two known, 99Ks in 250-3000 Savage. When I first received this 99K, the barrel caught my attention, so I made a call to David Royal, author of "A Collector's Guide to the Savage 99 Rifle" to let him know what I had. To my amazement, he told me he had recently purchased a 99K, also with a 24" barrel in the 250-3000 caliber. I quickly sent this rifle to Mr. Royal for photgraphing and insertion into his upcoming book on engraved 99s and to help confirm it's authenticity, which he did. In the next few phone calls with Mr. Royal, my excitement at what I had in my possession got even greater, leading me to use the word "rare" for the first time in one of my listings. The engraving is sharp, the bluing excellent and the hand checkered wood remains in excellent condition with only the scuffing on the left stock and three pinpoint marks on the left receiver as small distractions to it's otherwise amazing condition. Look at the pictures, and if you are one who wants a very special 99K, then call or e-mail to make it yours. $90 S&H to most of the lower 48. Eight far west states at $100 S&H. Post office money orders preferred for payment, but I will accept a cashier's check or personal check, with a 2 or 3 day wait for it to clear. No warranty stated or implied by the seller.
