Description:
SOLD *** to Tim  This is a L.C. Smith Ideal grade 20 gauge shotgun with 28" barrels and it was made to exacting standards in 1950. This Ideal grade has a skeet style forend and a beautifully figured stock that has a 14-1/8" length of pull to the first of the double triggers. The stock has a 1-1/2" drop at the comb and 2-5/8" drop at the heel to a Pachmayr recoil pad and a capped pistol grip. The barrels have been expertly re-blued to a deep dark blue luster and they are choked Modified and Improved Modified. The factory 2-3/4" chambers have been extended to 3" and the barrels have no pitting and are bright and shiny. The barrels also have the raised Single Sighting Plane Rib that allows the shooters eye to be directed to the target with no confusion with the barrels, an option beginning in 1939. The barrels have a small ivory colored mid-bead and a much larger ivory colored end bead. The top of the rib is neatly matted to eliminate any possibility of glare. The gun is reasonably tight and the top lever sits just right of center.
