Description:
Serial #C33105, .52 Caliber, 30" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few scattered spots of pitting along its length, mostly towards the breech. The metal of of this single trigger rifle has an overall plum-brown patina with mottled brown-gray on the frame, hammer, and lever with some silvering at the muzzle and along the raised edges. The action is fully functional, with a firm breechblock fit, and intact disk primer mechanism. The walnut stock and buttstock are likewise in fine condition with some scattered minor handling marks and surface blemishes beneath an old added varnish finish, a faint inspector cartouche on the left side of the wrist, and some heavier bruising at the front of the forend just behind the nosecap. a short, with-the-grain crack is present inside the patchbox as well. This is a tight, very good plus example of a desirable Civil War Sharps military rifle that would make an excellent addition to any collection. Antique
