Smith guns in fine original condition are nearly impossible to source and this gun is gorgeous in appearance and stone cold original throughout. The gun features 30" Chain Damascus barrels with early friction splinter forend that have ebony Dogs head insert. The case hardened action is engraved in typical Grade III pattern. The straight grip buttstock is checkered through the wrist and has its original lined buttplate. Production records indicate 17 made in Grade 3 10ga- with the straight stock, there couldnt have been more than 2 or 3 made in this configuration making this an extremely rare gun! Overall the gun remains in an exceptional original state of preservation. It retains more than 90% of the bold original chain damascus pattern with excellent bores. The gun retains more than 70% bold original case color. Trigger guard with about 30% of the original blue and stocks with about 95% original finish with crisp checkering.
