Built in 2003, Modelo Araldo, named after Piotti co-founder Araldo Piotti. This magnificent matched pair has remained in the care of original custodian until now. The exquisite engraving, commemorating the ‘US Marine Corp’ stunningly executed by Europe’s most iconic and sought-after engraver, Mario Terzi. Profusely engraved battle scenes from WWI & WWII and vignettes of notable generals adorn these shotguns. Photographs of this pair are in the Terzi Engraving book, showcasing his very best work. This engraving subject would never be duplicated today. The sporting gentleman from the SC Low Country enjoyed the stewardship of these fine guns over both Grouse, on his famous English Grouse Moor, Snilesworth and back in the USA over Quail at his homes at Brays Island & Cherokee Plantations. Annually maintained by Master Gunsmith Walter Eisserer, a former Griffin & Howe gunsmith from 1964 to 1968, moving on to work for himself and gaining a stellar reputation caring for many important fine sporting firearms collections throughout the USA. This opportunity not to be missed by anyone who places significance on military provenance. Today a new pair built to this specification by Fratelli Piotti would set you back a mere $292,000.00. Piotti Araldo US Marine Corp Commemorative Matched Pair are now offered for your consideration. SG-138 I5 SOLD Shotgun Gauge: 28 Gauge |
