Description:
ON LAYAWAY. 1885 Sporting Rifle made in 1888. Originally in .22 WCF and so marked. No 1 octagon barrel. Receiver has been jeweled and then whole rifle nicely reblued. Front sight dovetail filled. Wood sanded so metal is proud at buttplate and rear of receiver. Approx 2" repair at top edge of forend. Bore excellent. Period scope of unknown manufacture, with worn finish but nice optics. Fine crosshairs and about 2.5 power, I think. Modern Redfield bases. A nice period shooter is what this is. Shipping $35. I have some .22 Hornet ammo if desired.
